Toshizo Shiraishi a.k.a. THG Biography
Toshizo was born in Ueda, Japan, and spent his early childhood in the Netherlands. He first picked up the guitar at the age of 17, and 3 years later moved to Boston, U.S.A. to attend Berklee College of Music. There, he learned Jazz guitar from John D. Thomas, Blues Guitar from Michael Williams, and Funk from Kenwood Dennard. Upon graduating from Berklee, Toshizo moved to New York City to learn from Mark Whitfield. After 9.11, Toshizo returned to Japan and started his own band “Boogaloo Bash!” in 2002. (After a few member changes, he renamed the band to “blissed”) He has also played in many other bands such as “WESTLAND” “ALBATRUS”(Until 2010) playing guitar and bass. Toshizo also produced the legendary 3day, free music festival “UEDA JOINT” (2002-2011) in his home town of Ueda City. Since 2018, Toshizo has performed as THG (Toshizo Hitori Guitar, Hitori meaning solo in Japanese) touring extensively across Japan in his camper van as a solo guitarist on The VANLIFE Tour, while continuing to play in bands such as “blissed”(original music), “anthropos”(Jazz) “IRIE JAZZ SESSION”(Jazzy Reggae), and “Play with the Earth Orchestra”(Live movie soundtrack) He is also the founder of his own music production label “INMYLIFE PRODUCTION”, releasing 12 Albums and 3 7”Vinyls (Single) and 1 12”Vinyl (LP) to date. Toshizo is an endorser of Vox amps.

幼少期はオランダの田舎町で過ごし、17歳からギターを始め、20歳で渡米。berklee college of musicにてジャズギターをジョン・トーマス、ブルースギターをマイケル・ウィリアム、ファンクをケンウッド・デナードに師事。 卒業後NYへ移住し、ジャズギターをマーク・ホィットフィールドに師事。9.11をNYで目の当たりにし、帰国を決意。 帰国後はblissed, WESTLAND, (仮)ALBATRUS(2010年脱退)等数々のバンドでギタリスト/ベーシストとしてのキャリアを積む。 と同時に入場無料の大型フェス 『UEDA JOINT』を地元‪長野県上田市にて10‬年間プロデュース。 近年は旧車のキャンピングカーで日本中を旅しながらTHG名義でソロギターライブを展開するジプシースタイルの活動を中心に Blissed(オリジナル), anthropos(ジャズ), IRIE JAZZ SESSION(レゲエ), play with the earth orchestra(サウンドトラック)等のバンド活動も精力的に行なっている。 INMYLIFE PRODUCTIONから12枚のアルバムと3枚の7インチレコード(シングル)と1枚の12インチレコード(LP)をリリース。 VOXアンプエンドーサー。 inmylife-pro.com
